How time flies...

My goodness, a lot has happened since the last post. I am definitely not a very diligent blogger... Well, I suppose we will just hit the highlights.

First: Halloween. Ryan and I were either too boring or too lazy to dress up ourselves, but we did dress up the little guy. I can tell you that he made one cute little tiger. The bonus was that he was a very soft tiger that was nice to cuddle :) He made his big appearance at the ward trunk-or-treat activity. The only problem was that the festivities lasted well past his bedtime. He made sure to let us know when he had seen enough, so we went home early and put the tiger to bed.

Next: new tricks. James has discovered how to army crawl, which means he can move across the room and get into things that Mom doesn't want him to play with. For example, Ryan and I were eating the other night while James played on his blanket. Then I heard a pounding sound. James had made his was across the roughly seven foot distance to where my computer was sitting on the ground. He was happily laying on the keyboard and pounding away with his little hands. There were also some nice, greasy hand prints on the screen. Moral of the story: Mom needs to be a little more careful. James is just learning to get onto his hands and knees, so I think we'll have a legitimate crawler before too long. Finally, he can almost sit up now. He's just a little tipsy to the sides. Oh yeah, he loves to hang out on his side.

We had some great visitors last week! Grandma Peterson and Auntie Em made the long trip to Tennessee to visit us (let's be honest-I think they were mostly here to play with the baby). We had lots of fun together, but of course the time went too fast. Ryan sometimes expresses his concern that James will be spoiled. Well, if these two have anything to do with it, he will be. He got lots of new toys and clothes while they were here. Thanks Grandma and Emily!

Last of all... Food! James got to start eating solid food while Grandma and Auntie Em were here. He loved it! He was definitely ready. We started with rice cereal. Each time he saw the spoon coming, he would reach up with both hands and help us put it into his mouth. The problem then was getting him to let go of the spoon. He is a bit of a picky eater though. He hates peaches and won't have anything to do with them. Plus, if we try to get him to eat them, he refuses to eat anything at all. I've had lots of messes to clean up, but James sure has fun!

Whew, talk about a long post!
